Flesh & Blood

Gore sound effect for when something really needs to die via metallic means of bisection. The ingredients for such a grotesque sound is:

Cardboard/newspaper, ripped with a degree of strength near the microphone (XY microphones on Zoom Handy's are very good for isolated, center sounds capturing all the necessary sharp transients. Careful not to smack yourself or the microphone like I did.

Eggs, preferably out-of-date by some days - gives it some "density". Use a pirex dish or your showerroom when doing this as it can get messy. Do not crack the egg for the yolk, crush the entire thing! The hollowness of the shell creates the whip and crack of something being broken into and the yolk's sloshiness makes for juicy, sloppy sounds.

Knife sharpening against other knifes for a nice "schwing". Pitching the sound can give it a very naunced effect of something very sharp but it also can make it sound fairly comical as well. Put it at the apex of the gore sound and you get a convincing effect of someone slicing in two.
