All is quiet on a rocky slope near a river tumbling down a mountain, pikas are running around on the rocks. Then a plane comes and one of the pikas sounds the alarm. I don't hear or see them after that. So much for something we call wilderness.
I am happy to have finally recorded one of my favorite creatures. Eventually pikas will disappear as temperatures rise at higher elevations.
Recorded with a pair of Sound Professional binaural mics (MS-TFB-2) in a blimp, into a modified Marantz PMD661.
