As a dog owner myself. I thank you for telling me about your issue and that I and my niece and nephew who are actually the kids doing all the work, had a hand in help you with your resolution. It makes the hobby that I do worth all the effort.

I'm in the process of adopting two children. I have two dogs, both good with people but little experience of children. A friend who is a dog behaviour consultant recommended, in preparation for having kids joining the family, one helpful tip is to download sounds of children playing, arguing, shouting, shrieking etc to help introduce them and hopefully desensitize them to the noise. I've selected a few clips from this website to download on my phone which I'll hide in various rooms of the house and leave playing, quietly at first and then building up the volume to see if the dogs react and if they do to play often but quietly to help them get familiar with the noises. (I did a similar thing with a previous dog who was frightened of fireworks; playing firework, gunshot and thunder noises very quietly and gradually building up over several days - eventually, even at a loud volume we would get no reaction and the dog was comfortable with loud noises after that.) THANK YOU!
