Not intended to be generally useful, this is merely a demonstration of how one can use warbling (slowly frequency-modulated) sine waves that stay within given bands in order to arrive at test tones for hearing that cover a narrow band while still remaining interesting enough to be likely to elicit a response. There are multiple bands used here, with both a shorter tone and a longer tone (850 msec and 2 sec, before adding reverberation forward and backward). This was in reply to a posting in the Sample Requesta forum, Frequency Filtered sound for testing difficult babies and infants hearing in Audiology. After generating these with an analog box circuit I threw together for the purpose, I then used CEP to do FFT filtering to ensure each clip stayed reasonably within bounds of its band, and also added forward and reverse reverb there.
