My house is not a very good house to record in, there's the occasional (I MEAN FREQUENT) smoke alarm "beep", so I took the beginning of the smoke alarm's beep, amplified it in Audacity, made it loop, and repeated it. Turns out the smoke alarm was useful for making a score sound effect. I think I recorded this with my Mac's Built-in Microphone.
