Some distant explosions in the middle of the night. My city is mainly quiet at night for now, so it is possible to hear the wonderful echoes off the buildings and landscape that are otherwise lost to the drone of traffic noise.

Aren't those gun shots? I lived in america for 2 years I got pretty good at distinguishing fireworks and gunshots
