Striking or lighting a match!
Lighting a match very close to a microphone in a quiet place for good sound isolation and detail. One in a series, each match sounds a bit different and each is held to the mic until they burn out.
Recorded with a Sennheiser MKH8060 mic into a modified Marantz PMD661.
