Greetings people of Freesound!
Remember our dear friend Herbert Boland's "CinematicBoomNorm" sound?
A friend and I have carefully re-created a sound very similar to his boom sound FROM SCRATCH using Thor synths and reverb in Reason 7 and Cubase with some tweaking in SoundForge.
This one's totally public domain, creative commons, non-attribution pro-commercial use! And it sounds JUST LIKE Herbert's. Remember,
This is NOT HERBERT BOLAND'S SOUND. It's just a VERY similar re-creation.
ENJOY THE FREEDOM TO USE THIS COMMERCIALLY AND WITHOUT ATTRIBUTION!

Nice!
It's a worthwhile exercise, and not too difficult. The challenge is the change in spectral content just after onset. I went through this exercise a while back, and put most of the results in my Thuds pack (or was it my Blasts pack? I can't remember which), and they are all different with different potential uses. Mine have CC Attribution license just because I like to be able to track down how my creative output gets used. :-)
Just EPIC
Reminds me of the slender days! Great work!
