Bumblebees and honeybees buzzing around a wisteria bush in an urban garden in Spring.
The location is basically the same as in my Home ambience journal pack, but much closer to the wisteria bush. I haven't put it in that pack because of the change of microphone position and recording level.
The wisteria blooms around the last week of April or first week of May, producing an enormous bounty of bright purple blossoms, filling the air with its scent, and attracting all of the bees that you hear.
The recorder is placed right up among the blossoms, but you can still hear various sounds of the surrounding environment: passing cars, sirens, wind chimes, wind, human activity, and birds (Northern Cardinal and Carolina Wren).
Recorded on 2025-05-07 at about 16:30.
Recorder: Sony PCM-D50, mics in 120-degree (wide) position, using a windscreen.
Processing: 2-octave high-pass filter at 100Hz.
