Berea, Kentucky, United States

Traffic on Kentucky Route 956, recorded where it crosses Silver Creek, just north of Berea, Kentucky USA. Recorded on 5 June2025 beginning at 13:49. Various cars, trucks, etc. Birds, frogs (at the creek) and insects (mostly cicadas).

Microphone was on the south side of the road pointing north across the road. Westbound traffic moves right to left. On the right, is a pavement transistion from blacktop (the road) to textured concrete (the bridge).

Original file at 96 kHz sample rate. Mic was a Josephson C700S. B format output was converted to binaural with Harpex, in post. Recorder was a Sound Devices MixPre 10 II. There is also a stereo version of this recording.

Note on geolocation: At the time of uploading, the satellite photo shows the location in a field because the satellite photo used was taken before the extension of KY 956 was completed.
