Channel quay bottom. Strange under water sounds from the channelised Dieze river in the Netherlands.
Simply, close your eyes and listen. Or if you can't read on.

With the underwater microphones suspended two and a half meters deep, but just above the ground on the shore in the water, you can hear what is normally inaudible.
With equalizers, I balanced the frequency spectrum.
Because the traffic is across the water you won't hear it. However, #9:22 several boats will pass by. Sometimes it sounds like a mystical underwater horse gallops.
There are also sounds from above the water.
Now you can guess what all you hear more.

The mysterious underwater river-horse slowly approaches. #13:25 Now a metallic underwater bird cries an anxious long call, to quietly and slowly disappear from view. #15:09 Right a strange honking sound wakes a monster from its sleep and now pursues the bird deeply humming #15:16. The monster causes quite a wave behind it. #17:27 The monster now crunches the bird between its jaws.
#18:04 It is never quiet here.
Another never-before-seen beast approaches. #19:09 It makes a strange singing sound that may be like sonar scanning the underwater world. Like bats, the tone quickens as it approaches prey, but slowly the sound diminishes. We'll never know if the hunt was a success #22:34 or did he flee from the gargle monster nearby that now also scratches its stiff skin for minutes at a time. Sometimes louder, sometimes more gently.
