This is an example of the Tibetan Buddhist Tantric (Vajrayana) chanting sometimes referred to as the 'Lion's roar'.

I learnt how to do this type of chanting from the chant master at Sera Je, the Tibetan Buddhist Monastic University in exile, India.

    Yes, very good... i've been looking for exactly this clip, tried to record it of many monks - but nothing beats a good close up recording. But i agree with "theSoundCenter", would be perfect with out effects.
