Walking

I like walking along with a mic in hand (hence the walking pack :) This recording starts on the veranda of the Riversdale Estate Vineyard cottages, the left one (see pic in comment below) to the point where the photo is taken from (approx). On the way you can hear (in no particular order) the following birds, Lapwing Plover, Noisy Miner, Raven, Galah, Blackbird. Recording chain: Rode NT4 (stereo mic) - Sound Devices Mix Pre (mic preamp) - Edirol R09 (digital recorder). EDIT: Ooops, Vinyard Walk = Vineyard Walk, too quick with the upload finger :)

Very nice walk, I miss places like that without human activity :)

I make all my recordings at 24bit 44.1 kHz and convert them to 16 bit prior to upload. I use 320 kbps mp3 when recording 'tours', just to keep the size down as they can go well over 1 hour and no one is going to download 1 GB just to ear the tour :)

A kind of recordists' dream. So nice to hear wild life in this way.
By the way, didn't you record this at 24bit? I'd rather hear more of the sound.
