Just for fun, I remixed http://freesound.org/people/CGEffex/sounds/121902/ into something that sounds a bit like the ‘red alert’ siren from the earlier Star Trek series. Useful for all those panicky moments. Have fun.

Not TNG. Original Series of Star Trek had a submarine style siren. Movies had a humming siren. Enterprise D had the a similar hum in some episodes, though it begins with the horn, and ends with the hum. (Best of both worlds?) Enterprise E had straight hum. This is awesome by the way. I would like to use it for a school project. I'll be uploading to youtube for showing in class, that's about it. But I'm more than happy to give a big-letter title attribution to you for this. So nostalgic right now. My hand is stuck in a vulcan greeting...

I thought the same sound was used in both the original series and TNG, but I may remember wrong.

I accidentally had my speakers up all the way when I played this. Needless to say - it startled the hell out of me. Nice recoding though. I take it you were referring to The Next Generation..
