Binaural recording of windstorm on December 14, 2006. I just noticed that I accidentally saved it in some weird 4-bit compressed WAV format, I will upload a FLAC later today, and perhaps someday we can delete this one. Now to describe this file... we recently had a pretty good wind storm, with maximum gusts of about 80 mph. When I recorded this, the winds were about 30-50 mph, with no rain. I had one window wide open in front of me, and another to my left, open just a crack to make the whistling sound. So straight in front of you, you are hearing the wind blowing through the tall trees across the street, and some sound of the wind rushing by the open window. You also hear the sound of a metal downspout or something on the house across the street, scraping back and forth in the wind. To your left you hear the wind whistling through the other window, which is open just enough to make it whistle. The wind did blast the mics a few times, sorry about that.

Many thanks! I'm working on my post-production project for college, and this is just the thing for atmos for one of the shots.

I don't need it, but I'm sure it will come in handy someday. Too good to not grab, while I remember.

Thanks. A very useful sound. Just used it for my music video Riots: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajDu59VRLck - for every scene where a bus is on fire. I had a freesound recording of a crackly fire (46272) which did was very good but not suitabe on its own. However combined with your sound, it starts to seem like a real bus fire! I kept it very low in the mix - just enough to give the subconscious message that it is real fire and you are there in the scene!
