recording of mechanical sound of my Sony TC-377 Tapecorder from 1975 from a stopped position, rewinding, then automatically coming to a stop, recorded using ZOOM H2, internal mics, 90 degrees stereo image, positioned directly in front of, below the reels, cut but unedited, uncompressed WAV

    I used this recording as a kind of "tabla" for an extended live looping piece here - https://soundcloud.com/ivodne-galatea/how-pictures-mean/

    Thanks for sharing, it's brilliant. I used to use reel-to-reel tape recorders for looping way back, and tape breaking and this fluttering sound was a feature of it. So I wanted to incorporate it back in, and there was your sound.
