Now this is one of my favourite recordings.
This is a true binaural recording of a steam locomotive arriving at Tan-Y-Bwlch railway station on the Ffestiniog steam railway in west Wales, UK.
The train whistles as it approaches and then passes by my position before coming to a halt. The railway guard also walks past asking for tickets and then shouts the station name as the train stops.
It was a calm and dry day, giving perfect recording conditions as the 18:10 to Porthmadog passed.
The Ffestiniog railway's website can be found here:

Recording date: 2011/08/04
Recording location: Tan-Y-Bwlch, the vale of Ffestiniog, Wales, UK.
Recording equipment: The Sound Professional's head mounted binaural microphones, into the Olympus DM5 digital recorder. .

Good God, this almost had me ducking for cover - listen on headphones!!!
This is beautiful thanks!
This is a nice recording and I like it a lot but I am not seeing any real advantage of Binaural over a good ORTF setup.
This is lovely. Really puts you there. Well done.
