Midnight in a vineyard by the German town of Freyburg on Unstrut.
In the foreground, wind in the trees of the forest below can be heard.
Then, the tower bells of the keep of Neuenburg Castle, located on the hill opposite, toll midnight. They do this by tolling a high bell 4 times, once for each quarter of the full hour, followed by a lower bell tolling the hour 12 times. This is repeated almost instantly by a similar clock somewhere on the distant side of the castle hill.
The recorder is located in front of a small cabin at the bottom of the vineyard, facing across the valley between vineyard and castle.
These are the REAR channels of a 4ch surround recording.
Recording conducted with a Zoom H2, mic's set to 120° dispersion.
