This sound was recorded during the confinement for COVID-19 from a balcony with a ZoomH4n.
Handclaps and boat horns for health workers, shouts, street sounds.
My neighbor is a 2 year old toddler and he got used to see me every evening and clap hands together. Then I would have a conversation with his mother. As our interactions became more and more intense and I wanted to make a good recording of the last handclaps (the official last was on May 17th but boats were still honking their horns) on this day I decided to avoid neighbors and just left the recorder on my balcony. Benicio, my little neighbor, was worried not to see me, and started calling my name (Ilaria = Iaia as he pronounced it). We can hear him clapping, calling and laughing through the recording. Curiously enough, avoiding interaction generated even a more intense sonic interaction.
