Sound design of a medieval or fantasy battle.
Initial medieval re-enactment session was recorded on Zoom H2. All the best hit sounds were cut up and mixed back together again with all aspects of modern life removed (traffic, conversation etc). These mixdowns were layered several times. They were then layered with some roars, grunts and screams we had recorded. Finally, an impact sound from another field record recording was slowed right down to a low rumble, layering this underneath gave the soundscape a lot of depth and made it sound quite vast.

Hey, absolutely great work! I run a YouTube Channel called The Study of Antiquity and the Middle Ages and I give lectures and tell stories involving ancient and medieval history and I would love to use this in my videos depicting battles and I was wondering what link you would like me to include in my video description? Thanks!
