A large family (20+ people) sitting down around a table and enjoying a meal. No music, and recorded in a large dining room. The people are speaking Afrikaans (from South Africa), but for the most part, cannot be understood/comprehended. Forks and knives are clicking against plates, as people chatter and laugh. Table and chairs occasionally move around.
Recorded with Tascam DR-60DMKII 4-track field recorder and Octava MK 012 Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphone. Processing: Fade in and out. Cut out background noises (like dogs barking or aeroplane drones).
This sound was recorded in a family member's home and forms part of a first-year sound design student assignment for the university, Open Window Institute (OWI).
