Sound design, composition, and music mixing. I have provided sound design and mix for feature films, television series, and theatrical productions. Some of my work for TV can be seen on the SyFy network (The Mercury Men), I've taken feature films from sound design through final mix (It Came From Yesterday; Privacy; Five Dances), and I've designed sound for selections of the Cannes Film Festival and Columbia University Film Festival (Beautiful Girls; Penny Dreadful; Breakaway). Theatrical work includes pieces performed at La MaMa, 59e59, Abingdon Theatre, Gallery Players, and much more.
My name is Julian Evans, and I deal with everything audible, from sound design, to composition, to music mixing. I’ve had experience at three different audio post facilities in New York, LA, and Pittsburgh, where I’ve provided services such as ADR, foley, film and music mixing, and sound design.
My musical background is what informs my mixes and designs – understanding of dynamics, tone, and rhythm make for uniquely musical and interesting results. I have a keen sense of the interplay of music and sound effects in films, so that my design complements a musical score, and my scoring complements sound effects placement.
I work fast and collaborate well. Professional equipment - Pro Tools 10, and industry sound libraries (Sound Ideas, Hollywood Edge, Universal Studios).
