Indian Gungroos (small bells) on an ankle strap, made for dancers to play percussion with their feet. I improvised while holding one, and later two, of them in my hands. I shook them, rattled them, moved them around, etc.

Something of a memory trip for me, but in a most unorthodox way! It was precisely this sort of thing that formed the basis of the very tightly constructed and purposeful classical music work called Bohor, by Iannis Xenakis. He put together a number of tracks (12, if I remember rightly) of such jangling and clanging sounds on tape, and built up a mesmerizing and visionary wall of sound, full of inner change, which, in the version I have on CD, which isn't the original one, commences rather like a birds' dawn chorus and eventually consumes itself into what seemed like a great wind. Enthralling for those who 'have ears to hear'!
