Acoustic Ethnic Percussion

Indian Gungroos (small bells) on an ankle strap, made for dancers to play percussion with their feet. I improvised while holding one, and later two, of them in my hands. I shook them, rattled them, moved them around, etc.

Recorded with Zoom H2n in MS-steroe.

Yeah, apparently composers like bells, this is a tradition going back at least 200 years!

I bought some ankle bells here in Sydney Australia, of all places, back in the 90s. Mine appear to be brass ad handmade, but not at brilliant and tinkly as yours. I still like mine, they have a different character, must upload one day!
