Raw audio of a metal, candle damper being struck with a metal mallet. Recorded simultaneously with a Zoom H1 and Zoom H4n Pro in order to compare the quality. The recorder was about 50cm away from the bell.

Thanks, mate! I'm a narrator for Audible and my first project is a MONSTER! It's a psychology book with these "case in point" boxes inserted into the middle of the text. I'm going to record them with this chime at the beginning so the listener will hear the chime, then "Case in point..." and then I'll read the text in the box after each chapter. I'll record them as separate tracks so if the rights holder wants to insert them directly into the chapters after specific paragraphs, I can do that or whatever they want but this will help the listener distinguish between the main text and the different "bonus" text.
