I USED THIS IN A COPYWRITED SONG, IT IS NO LONGER PUBLIC DOMAIN, but as freesound will not let me take the sample down, I am in a bit of a bind. Original description ::: "Fire is also a Verb, This is a huge lazer charging up and being "Fired"Created with Reaktor, Logic EXS24 and ES2, many layers of different synths automation and then run through the Logic time stretcher."

qubodup is correct. If I were to quote a paragraph from a piece of text that is in the public domain, and my final composition was copyrighted, the original is still in the public domain. My copyright does not change the status of the original, unless the rights to the original were purchased by you or another organization. If that is the case, I'd suggest showing some sort of documentation here.

Using a public domain sound in a copyrighted song doesn't make the sound not public domain any more..
