Some sounds I love so much, I almost bust...so I was incredibly overjoyed to find this sound on archive.org, because some sounds I have searched for all my life and when I find them I go nuts. I digitally reconditioned this one to optimal quality, clipped it so it loops perfectly, etc... I would provide a higher quality version, like Stereo 48khz, but I have found that converting a files sample rate and/or channels can cause many unwanted pops and clicks that ruin the file. So, I saved it as it's original mono 22khz and exported it to 24-bit uncompressed wav. You can view the original file here: http://www.archive.org/details/SubmarineDiveAlarm

I know, that's why I didn't resample it at all...I figured that the best possible quality of this audio would be it's original quality so I just trimmed it and cleaned the audio a bit, I left the rate alone.

Just resampling at a higher rate won’t alter (improve) the sound one bit. You need to add harmonics (after resampling), to add higher frequencies, e.g. … http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=104989
