Hi there.

I was wondering if anyone could provide some sfx of old, creaking pipes preferably with water hammer (that shuddering noise when you turn off the faucet/tap quickly)? I tried to make my own from creaking trees and air pressure pipes but it's not working out at all!

I'd very much appreciate any sfx, links, or advice anyone has to offer.

Thankyou,

~Sophie

EDIT:
I've found the creaking pipes here but haven't been able to find anything that sounds like pipes shuddering. If you know where I could find something like that I'd be very grateful. Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply!
I've already searched through all the sounds using the keywords "plumbing", "pipes", "water hammer", "squeak", "groan", "shudder", "thump", "bang", "clang"
but there aren't any that sound like an old house with empty pipes shuddering and groaning.
Even looked for the sounds of a creaking ship/submarine under water pressure and still no luck. It's a tricky sound to capture, no doubt.
EDIT: Just searched "water pressure" which gave me a good result

The kitchen sink in my apartment will cause a short water hammer effect if you turn it off quickly. I recorded it last night from underneath the bathroom sink. The perspective sounds like it's coming from one of my neighbors operating their sink next door (every sink in this building does it too.) Here's the link once it clears moderation: http://www.freesound.org/people/dheming/sounds/193765/

I also plan on recording the slow creaking that happens when you turn on the hot water and let it warm the pipe up. Sometimes I can get my bathroom sink to go into full-on water hammer oscillation, I'll try to get that too.
