Your I love men track has a clacker-like rhythm .. http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=82364
Nice wisecrack, Timbre. Anyways, it doesnt quite work for me. I need the kicks and snares-stuff like that
It mostly sounds like improvised instruments, e.g. there is a scaffold pole bell, and the main drum sound is like someone banging a knocker on a wooden door. A proper musical instrument comes in at about 3 min: a flanged electronic synthesised sound.
an old kawai r100 will get you the waxtrax! sound, whilst an old emu procussion is more nettwerkesq.
you could pick up that hardware on the cheap these days, or find some samples.
imo, modern tools, IE "punch" are more useful. (althought i can't bring myself to get rid of the procussion)
The sound that comes in at 9 seconds into the music video on youtube is the sound of a broom falling over, the end of the broomstick hitting a stone wall or floor. I've recorded a similar sound and just uploaded it. Still awaiting moderation so I cannot give you a link but it's called "broomstick against stone and cardboard". Several intensities of hitting. In the music video the broomstick sound sounds like a fast "delay L-C-R" effect has been used on it with only a little feedback.
