Hi,

for quite some time I've been trying to download a large sound pack. However, the download speed is very low so the downloads keep timing out.

The issue is not with my internet connection (50kbit/s); so on any other site I get download speeds around 6MB/s. The download speeds here are around 150-300KB/s.

I am trying to download in Germany, in case this is relevant.

Hi there! Unfortunately, there's not much I can tell to help you. Many users have been experiencing these issues. It's likely something to do with so much more traffic because of covid-19, as many people are choosing or being forced to stay home. The only tip I can give you is to try to download them separately, as that may prevent it from timing out.

We're making changes in Freesound infrastructure to make it faster. We've been able to increase page load speeds quite significantly in the last couple of days. Download speeds is something we have not investigated yet, however we've always had to limit speeds quite significantly because of bandwidth restrictions. We'll see if this can be improved a bit in the following weeks.

I'm having the same issue, I wait about 22 min for a 45MB file, downloading at a speed of ~40kb/s.

Hi, we've made some changes that should have improved the situation. Can you check how are downloads going now on your end?

Check your net contention wiring and router wiring. If the problem still persists then you can contact to your net provider company.

When downloading a pack to sounds which is around 19 GB in size it says it will take 10-11 hours to download and finally server timesout and starts from fresh I had repeated this like 3 times now which literally makes users unable to download those packs.
