I tried to upload a small wav file, it seemed to be uploaded, but after getting 100% there was an error message ("Form is not valid" or "Failed: ioError:"+ name of the file, depending on web browser).

Then I tried to upload a file already uploaded a weeks ago -with a small change in the name- and I also got the error message.

What is wrong?

You cannot upload a sound that is already here, even if you change the filename. Freesound remembers...

I want to believe.

Ok!, but the first file with which I had the problem (and I have yet) is one I had not uploaded.

It seems I found the trouble.

Until a days ago, I could upload files with extension *.WAV written with capital letters. Now, after various attempts with different files, I decided to try to upload one of this sounds with the "wav" written with small letters and it worked.

I had uploaded files with the extension .WAV without success. Changed it to .wav (thanks to this forum thread) and ta da! Now it works. Thanks!

If you encounter problems, it is also good to try using the non-flash version of the upload tool. Probably not going to make a difference in this particular case though.

Yes, I had tried with flash and with non-flash versions (also with different browsers and files) and I could not upload any file with nor of them.

Hi everyone,

there was a problem with uppercase file extensions (eg. .WAV) which was introduced a couple of days ago.
I have fixed this issue and these files should upload normally now.

Hi klankbeeld,

Hmmm that's strange. I just tried to upload an ogg file and it worked in both uploaders.
Could you please host the file somewhere and send me a link to download so I can test with your file?
You cans end a private message if you prefer.

Thanks!

Hi again klankbeeld,

I tested uploading with your sound and it worked fine for me (safari/osx).
I could upload and describe (although then it was obviously rejected because file is already part of Freesound).

Did you experience similar problems with other files?

Hello technitions (fredric),

I still have problems uploadig OGG-file using the new HTML uploading sytem.
is givess the code: Uploaded file format not supported or not an audio file.
using FLASH works fine. other formats work fine on HTML.

last file uploaded: CityPark Autumn LONG 161001_1001.ogg a 200mB file

I have had this problem for a longer time, but forgot to tell you. (Not many users use OGG, so no complains i guess).

regards klankbeeld

ps
using window 8, firefox, all up to date..
I have an other long OGG (192mB) sound in stock I can wetrnsfer for test if you want. (PM please)

Hi again,

I checked and the problem seems to only affect Firefox.
I made a small update that should fix it, so you should be able to upload your ogg file without problems from Firefox now.

Cheers,
