A recording of a large flock of birds, having a great time in the middle of a field, located in the west of Denmark. The microphones are placed fairly close to the birds, i would say about 70 meters away. You can hear them take off in smaller groups, but also the whole flock, almost at the same time. I have no idea how many birds we're talking about, but when they took off, it was like attending a "black sun" event (if you are familiar with the term). The sky was covered with birds.
Recorded with a TSM PR1 portable digital recorder, with external stereo microphones. Edited in Audacity 1.3.5-beta on ubuntu 8.04.2 linux.
