This is a recording of a magnificent thunder, that continued all night long. In the background you can hear the wind blowing in the leafs, in the trees. You can also hear a farmer working in the fields, harvesting. Right after the first big thunder you may notice the distant sound of a scooter driving away. Then suddenly comes the heavy rain and some more thunder. I think this actually is a spooky recording, because the farmers machines gives a very special dark sound. After i recorded this, it got too windy to continue recording.
This was recorded with a TSM PR1 portable digital recorder, with external stereo microphones. Edited in Audacity 1.3.5-beta on Ubuntu 8.04.2 Linux.

I like this! The farmer's machine also sounds like a slow moving or idling diesel locomotive.
I love the bassy thunder, but I wish the rain-fall
sound wasn't as plastic sounding. e.g. rain hitting plastic trash can lids.
I'm still downloading it though, and will be looking for more great recordings from Kyster.

Hey, thank you so much marvman. It's one of the first really succesfull recordings i made outside.
