Long recording of a journey with the old historical streetcar in Porto (line 22, Praça de Batalha to Carmo). Rattling noises of the vehicle, engine starting, and the tram starts moving. Rattling of the wheels on the rail, the whole vehicle shaking, creaking, groaning and squeaking of the old wooden and metal construction. Shortly after a loud howling sound of the engine (0:24) is drowning out almost everything else. At 0:53 and 4:18 bell that tells the driver to stop at the next stop (the bell hangs in front of the vehicle and is ringed by pulling a cord, that goes along the ceiling through the whole car). Streetcar stopping several times, sometimes for longer intervals (e.g. at 1:08, 2:07, 4:10, 5:11) and then starting again (1:28, 2:30, 4:26, 5:27). Beeping at 2:20 from electronic ticket machine. After 6:00 some interesting metallic squeaking noises when the tram has to drive a turn. After that it stops, people are getting out. In the very end you here the sound of some metal sheet, that is the driver changing sign, that says where the tram is going in front of the vehicle. Throughout the whole recording people talking and faint traffic noise in the background.
