Fan-tailed Warbler (Cisticola juncidis) singing and fluttering near the mics, some insects too. The ones recorded here were a group of ten birds, I noticed they loved a particular place on a fence, so I fixed the mics there and waited for their approach. Also called Zitting Cisticola (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zitting_Cisticola) this little brown bird is one of my personal favourites, maybe because they are so small (100 mm) and yet survive in the harsh, hell-like southern-Spanish summer. Recorded in
tall grassland marsh (Doñana, S Spain) using a pair of Shure WL183 mics (with DIY windscreens), FEL preamp, and Edirol R09 recorder. Original is 24-bit.
