People make tentative social arrangements - perhaps lunch?The ambience and sounds in the main display room in the British Library. Voices, a cough, noise from heating and extraction systems. The room is kept quite dark to protect the wonderful exhibits from harmful light. It is heavily carpeted with a low ceiling and therefore the general ambience here is quite different and more claustrophobic than that in the entrance hall.
