This is a very short sample of a cheap Panasonic cassette recorder being jiggled around on a train approximately 300 miles north of The Pas, northern Manitoba in early January 2000, midafternoon. The distinctive crepitus of the slowly moving train is audible. In winter the train sounds that way for more than 24 hours as it moves across the permafrost at approx. 25 mph.
