Steps: Recording made using a cardioid microphone. I recorded the sound of a few gallons of water boiling in a pot. To get it, I had to hold the microphone at an average distance from the pot and point it towards the boiling water surface. It resulted in this continuous and crackling sound. I then imported the sound into Audacity and “normalized” it. I also reduced its gain, to prevent the saturation.

Descriptif selon la Typologie/morphologie de P. Schaeffer : Son de type continu complexe (X). Son analyse morphologique nous révèle un son cannelé, au timbre harmonique acide et au grain rugueux. Son attaque est abrupte. Plusieurs hauteurs sont audibles dans ce son, elles varient de façon scalaire. Il n’y a pas d’égalisation.
