I recorded two sounds in order to make Looked Through and Ripped Book. First of all I recorded myself looking through an old book with thick pages. Then I ripped the same kind of paper and mixed the record with the previous one. I kept the best parts and combined them as if someone looked in the book, ripped a piece of paper and then went back to his reading. I used a very few effects in Audacity because I wanted a natural and simple result. Therefore I only used the noise reduction in order to get rid of an annoying buzzing noise in the background (12dB), then I used the compressor effect to reduce the gap between peaks in the two part of the sound (threshold : -20dB, noise level : -40dB, Ratio : 3.1, release : 1.8). Afterward I used the normalize effect up to 7.5dB to rise up the volume a bit without quality lost. And finally I played a bit with deeps and highs (+3 and - 3) because it gave me a sound a bit deeper and warmer that suited better what I wanted to suggest with this sound.
