Nice to be of some help. Interesting comment on history, I studied musicology at uni' and worked on the history of noise in our society, which accounts for some of these recordings. I also use sounds like this in my music as samples for drums sounds (etc), or using sound design (filtering noises) and make them into notes.

Glad to be of help. I must say I love these ambient 'hits' from the ball and the squeaking of the shoes/boots. I've made few pieces using sounds like this!
