This recording of humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) song and echolocation clicks of a cachalot (Physeter macrocephalus) is part of a series of recordings from an oceanic soundscape project using a deep-sea cabled observatory off the California coast. More information about this research project is available in a publication.

Thank you so much for sharing this with the greater community. Heard about it in the Santa Cruz newspaper. Fantastic. To think it's right here off our coast.
