Very close common cuckoo (bird of the Year 2008 in Germany) on a may afternoon in a natural wetland reserve north of Cologne. I attracted him by reproducing its call blowing into my hands well hidden under a dense bush. Notice that the first part of the call sounds a bit hoarse when the bird is close. Vivanco EM35, preamp into Marantz PMD671. Low frequencies filtered.
