The sound effect was created using a bangle that instantly bends and wraps your wrist as you hit it against your wrist. The bangle makes a snapping noise when it is bent which has a familiar sound to bones snapping.
Recorded with a Zoom H6 XY Stereo microphone with a foam cover in a bedroom. The sound was post-processed in Reaper to make the snapping sound more effective.
