Calm down-town city canal 'de Vughterstroom', 's-Hertogenbosch Holland. Ambient recording.
I have my microphones hanging over the 5 meter high wall of the down-town city canal, 1 meter above the water level. Remarkable is the city noise doesn't come there, even it's a Friday afternoon and people are doing there shopping. Just the nearby sounds are audible.
Two man hang over the wall and make a little chat sometimes. Some birds around.
If you shouldn’t tell you else it could be an early morning in a village.
In spring and summer you can sail trough the canal with a guide.
Recorded: city-canal 'Vughterstroom' along 'Uilenburg', 's-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch), Netherlands (Holland), Europe.
Season: end winter, February 27th 2015, 4pm
Weather: temp 7c, partly clouded, wind 2-4bft, dry.
Gear; Primo EM 172 (omni, AB30 setting) in Rode Blimp > Sony PCM D50 recorder. EQ AUDACITY. To use it as MONO signal, do not simple make it mono. You'll lose some information. Just delete the left channel and change the right one to mono. EQ with audacity.
This AB30 microphone setting is so beautiful becase it gives a great ambiance. Hope you like it.
