A fire burning, and howling in the chimney of an oldfashioned woodstove / heater in a kitchen in the netherlands, old farmhouse. Recorded with an Edirol R09 (internal microphones), almost inside the flames. Making this recording made a nice mod to the mics, they sounded more warm ever after ;-)
There is almost no room sound and i made no after-effects, except i think i did compress/limit a little to get the sparks less loud and the firestorm a bit louder.
If you hear any roomsound at all: Size of the room is appr. 4x5m, it is an attick room, so the roof is sloped 45 degrees on both sides. Middle of the room has a height of appr. 3,5 m. Ceiling: plaster + wooden beams, vinyl floor. The room has a sofa, table and some open cupboards, so the sound does not reflect too much or too annoyingly echoey when recording there.

thanks so much for this! I did a recording of being in a one time special place like this, but I didn't get enough of it. Yours is the perfect remedy for my own bad work:-).
