Just a 200-220hz snare body recorded and resampled back into my DAW, white noise hitting slightly ahead, could use some compression, limiting, eq, and saturation but a great starting point imo for making a nice snare.

Sounds like you completely took away the transient. If you used Edison in FL Studio, make sure you turn off "Smooth editing mode," because with that on, Edison does a rather long fade-in that destroys transient.
