A large diesel loco with a track ballast maintenance load idling during works on the Swansea-Paddington line in Cardiff. Steady throb of engine, with syncopated higher metallic grinding sound. Occasional footsteps and sound of crew. Distant claxon. Good for industrial soundscape, large noise component so useful for filtering. Recorded on Zoom H2n, trackside approx 50ft from loco.
