I'm asleep and stop breathing for a while. It's what is called an Apnoea. Lot's of people, especially those who snore, have this in their sleep. It sounds a bit frightening but it's harmless. Besides this silence there is the usual urban sound at night or early in the morning and the continuously pumping waterpumps in the pumping station next to my house.
