We're waiting in line for tickets in the lobby of the admission building of Longwood Gardens. We are just inside the doors of a fairly wide room. Directly in front of us is a ticket vendor, her station a wooden booth completely open above waist height. Her change drawer has a certain squeak to it. Behind us the entrance doors open and close, admitting more visitors. People who have already paid are walking around and calling to each other beyond the ticket vendor. To the right in a smaller room there is a video "virtual tour" being presented. People in line with us are having quiet conversations. I have edited out the bits of conversation between my wife and me- they were very loud compared to everything else.
