this recording was made on a winter camping trip to smarts mtn (white mtns, new hampshire) in february
2006. i dangled the mic just above water level at a stream that was
flowing under several layers of ice, which created a resonating chamber
for the rushing water. the water gurgles, bounces, drips, curls, chops
- the layers of simultaneous interaction are pretty much mind-boggling.

I used this recording as part of a sound piece played within a sculptural cave-like installation called the "Cryptic Lagoon", by Andrew Kerr, exhibited at Utrophia Project Space in Deptford, South London.
The recording was granulated heavily and also processed to give an impression of being underwater.
